American Kargo loves to support the sport, so we couldn’t pass up Amateur racing right in our own back yard. Some of the AK crew made the short trek south to the Loretta Lynn Northeast Amateur Regional Championship at High Point. With Loretta’s just around the corner, this would be the last and final weekend for riders to earn their spot at the Ranch next month.
The friendly staff from RacerX really put forth the effort to roll out the red carpet for all the amateurs attempting to qualify. We were astonished to see how many people came out for final pre-race set up and shakedown. The riders would be on the same track that James Stewart had gone 1-1 just two weeks prior.
We saw a lot of really great riding as everyone practicing tried to gain some confidence for the racing Saturday and Sunday. After practice we sat track side with some riders and their families, listening to stories of the Amateur life.
In the background the dozers had taken to the track prepping for a long weekend of motos. Discing, pushing and grooming the Pennsylvania dirt to perfection. As the racers turned towards there campers for dinner and rest, the AK crew headed down to the track for one last look. For a select few dreams would be made tomorrow, with only the top 7 riders from each class punching their tickets to the Super Bowl of Amateur motocross, Loretta Lynn’s. Best of luck. #alwaysfast
