Senor Graphic Designer

SPECIFICS:

  1.  Demonstrate and maintain a strong knowledge of target market demands, customers, and brand objectives and design anesthetic.
  2.  Research current design trends, applications, colors, fits, fabrics, and washes. Translate this research to produce high quality, trend right graphics and prints.
  3.  Manage in house graphic teams.
  4.  Drive and execute catalog development and design. Strong understanding of multi-page layout and ability to direct photography development and production.
  5.  Must be able to manage multiple projects, within the set timeline and meeting the standards set by management.
  6.  Collaborate with other members of American Kargo creative to insure consistent and cohesive graphic offering.
  7.  Develop and maintain relationships with sponsored athletes and select product testers and prepare discussions and presentations for athlete roundtable meetings.
  8.  Execute full scope of all design work according to set, specific, and rigid calendar deadlines and requirements.
  9.  Develop and maintain strong internal relationships with sales and marketing staff to promote and ensure a thorough and consistent design process.
  10.  Be prepared to clearly and effectively answer questions and present work in a sales meeting environment.
  11.  Live the brand - Love motorcycles or other adrenaline / action sports.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1.  Degree in graphic design or other appropriate field, or the equivalent combination of education plus experience required.
  2.  5-7 years apparel/graphic design and development expertise.
  3.  Experience in graphic merchandising and planning.
  4.  Management experience.
  5.  Willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA.
  6.  Willingness to travel (domestic and international).

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  1.  Knowledge of youth driven lifestyle markets.
  2.  Technical knowledge of materials, fabrications, garment construction, and design processes.
  3.  Understanding of sourcing processes and costing implications.
  4.  Understanding of conceptual garment illustration as well as detailed CAD illustration.
  5.  Understanding of retail business environment and measures.
  6.  Strong understanding of international color and print trends.
  7.  Strong portfolio required.
  8.  Strong oral, written, and general language skills.
  9.  Proficiency with CS5 or higher.

  4.  Proven 3D Solid modeling skills SolidWorks 3D CAD software (+AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp)
  5.  Familiarity with 3D printers (desktop, Objet, 3d Systems, Stratasys), materials and software
  6.  Willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA.
  7.  Willingness to travel (domestic and international).

  2.  3+ years of professional experience in industrial design / 3D modeling.

Product Developer

SPECIFICS:

  1.  Demonstrate and maintain a strong knowledge of target market demands, customers, and brand objectives and design aesthetic.
  2.  Research current design trends, applications, colors, fits, fabrics, and washes.
  3.  Manage research and development of products from conception to retail.
  4.  Provide project and process management for converting a project brief and a two-dimensional design rendering into a three dimensional sample that meets the needs of the team and the consumer and that can be successfully and profitably commercialized and produced.
  5.  Collaborate with internal team and external vendors, to effectively execute product development goals and deliverables.
  6.  Create and revise appropriate documentation for assigned products; ensures all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and prototype notes.
  7.  Manage and oversee timeline dates hitting all milestones.
  8.  Track and facilitate sampling and prototyping for products; identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plan accordingly to deliver proven and tested product. Monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.
  9.  Keep abreast of market trends, category goals, new technology and consumer needs throughout the development process and engage appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1.  Degree in related field, or the equivalent combination of education plus experience required.
  2.  3-5 years apparel product development experience.
  3.  Must have previous experience working with and traveling to factories in Asia.
  4.  Proven successful experience managing projects and problem solving concepts and application.      
  5.  Willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA.
  6.  Willingness to travel (domestic and international).
